Tailor arrested on molestation charges

Srinagar, Sep 12: A tailor was arrested Wednesday after police caught him red-handed molesting a girl in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

According to police, a man from Bongam Kulgam reported in Police Station Kulgam that a person is “indulging in a criminal activity inside a shop”.

A police party headed by SHO Kulgam raided the spot, and found a tailor Sabzar Ahmad Mir, son of Gulzar Ahmad Mir, resident of Arigatnu “sexually molesting a girl” (name withheld). Police said the tailor was arrested on the spot and a case (FIR no. 157/2018) under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation taken up.
