Srinagar, September 6: Students of Cluster University on Thursday held protest here against varsity administration for issuing early notification for M.Sc. 3rd semester examination.

Chanting slogans against varsity administration, the students mostly girls who had appeared at Press Enclave held demonstrations demanding deferment of examination till their syllabus is completed.

They said the authorities issued notification without bearing in mind whether the students who have completed only twenty percent syllabus so far can appear in the exams or not.

“Our eighty percent syllabus is yet to be completed as we have been able to cover only twenty percent so far. Authorities issued 15th November notification for exams but we are not prepared. Our only demand is to defer exams till we complete the syllabus,” said Tabinda a student.

She said besides, the University administration recently issued a fresh circular for teachers to conduct evening classes to ensure rest of syllabus is completed.

“Isn’t this injustice with us? How can we travel thirty to forty kilometers everyday to reach to the university that too in the evening? Is it possible for a girl student to travel in evening in present circumstances,” she added.

She demanded that both exams and evening class circular be cancelled so that the students could be able to prepare themselves for exams.

“Our only demand is to defer exams till we cover 100 percent syllabus, besides this dictatorial order of evening classes be cancelled as well,” said Fatima a 3rd semester student in Cluster University.
