Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate drug menace, Anantnag police along with Excise department and Tehsildar Bijbehara destroyed bhung cultivation spread on about 60 kanals of land in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bijbehara.

On the directions of SSP Anantnag, a police party of Police Station Bijbehara along with the officials of Excise department and Tehsildar Bijbehara destroyed bhung cultivation spread on about 60 kanals of land in Hamzapora, Tulkhan and its adjoining areas in Bijbehara.

Meanwhile, bhung cultivation spread on about 08 kanals of land was also destroyed by Police Station Srigufwara at Bannard Saller Srigufwara.

The locals of the area appreciated the efforts of Police in eradicating the drug menace and have wished that the drive should continue in other areas of the district.

Meanwhile, on the directions of SSP Bandipora, police along with excise department destroyed contraband crops spread on vast land in Hajin and Ajas areas of the district.

A police party headed by SHO Police Station Hajin along with Excise department and civil society members destroyed bhung spread on vast land in Hakbara, Chandergeer and adjoining areas.

Besides, a police party headed by DO Ajas destroyed wild bhung spread on vast land in SK Payeen.

The locals of these areas have appreciated the effort of Bandipora Police. The drive will continue in other villages of Hajin area.
