Srinagar police organizes PCPG meeting

September 05:  In view of the forthcoming month of Muharram-ul-Haram, a Police Community Partnership Group Meeting was organized on Wednesday by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Police Station Lalbazar.

In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said, “During the meeting, the participants discussed and raised many issues including the route plan during the Muharram processions in the area and availability of essential commodities and essential services during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram.”

“The participants were assured by the chairing officer that their demands pertaining to civil administration will be forwarded to the concerned departments for their early redressal and their suggestions will be taken care of and imperative measures in this regard will be taken in a very short and suitable period of time. The chairing officer also assured them Police will provide all the necessary possible help and will facilitate the smooth conduct of all the traditional Moharram processions of the area,” he added.

The spokesman further said that the participants in the meeting unanimously decided that such meetings shall be organized in future also. “Besides, all the contact numbers of Police Stations were provided to them and advised to contact police station in case of any exigency.”

“The meeting was chaired by SDPO Hazratbal Rameez Rashid Bhat- JKPS. Respectable citizens from Lalbazar, Bagwanpora, Zari Mohalla, Botakadal and nearby areas participated in the meeting,” the spokesman added.
