“The meeting termed the Kashmir issue purely a political and a humanitarian issue. While condemning the obduracy adopted by India to suppress the people’s popular movement with military might and iron fists, the meeting rejected the Indian stubbornness and resolved to take the movement to its logical destination, come what may,” reads the statement.

“Extending its full support to the election boycott call for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), the meeting described it quite mandatory for the success of our resistance movement,” the statement added.

The statement termed the election boycott formula as a weapon in the hands of the subjugated people to cut down Indian propaganda that by participation in the elections the people of Kashmir are satisfied within India.

“Condemning the police action of prolonging the house-arrest of Hurriyat-G chairman Syed Ali Geelani, the meeting expressed its deep concern about the negative impacts on his health. The meeting also alleged that India is afraid of the popularity graph of Syed Ali Geelani, so they are hell bent for his prolonged house arrest, which the meeting described as a sheer trampling of human rights,” said the statement.

According to the statement, “The meeting paid rich tributes to yet another martyred youth, Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Kulgam at the ‘hands of occupation forces’ and demanded a high level probe through international war tribunal to bring the killers of the innocent people to justice for their involvement in war crimes.”

“The meeting condemned the gruesome killing of an innocent minor girl Muskan of Bonyar, Uri in a mysterious condition and demanded judicial probe into the heart wrenching incident. The meeting alleged that the galloping crime rate in our pious society is a cause of deep concern for all of us. The meeting appealed the saner people to rise to the occasion and foil the nefarious designs of the occupation authorities to turn Kashmir into a hub of heinous crime, drugs, wine, obscenity and moral bankruptcy,” reads the statement.

“The meeting also saluted the unwavering commitment and high spirits of our incarcerated leaders and activists, languishing in different jails from Tihar to Srinagar central,” the statement added.
