KVIB organizes workshop under NSSH at Kargil

KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 04: Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) today organized a workshop under National Scheduled Caste Schedule Tribe Hub (NSSH) schemes for Schedule Caste Schedule Tribe MSMEs, here at Conference Hall, Baroo Kargil.

Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, J&K KVIB, Mohammad Ashraf Haqla inaugurated the workshop while as Chief Accounts Officer, District Fund Office Kargil was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Starting with the initiatives taken by KVIB in uplifting downtrodden and underprivileged strata of the society, Mohammad Ashraf Haqla asked the participants to avail maximum benefits of these schemes.

During the workshop, the participants were also informed about how to establish MSME units.

Lead Bank Manager, representatives from State Bank, Punjab National Bank, JK Cooperative Bank, District Officer KVIB Kargil and officers of line departments were present on the occasion.

While giving power point presentation about NSSH scheme, the Financial Advisor said that the Government of India has formulated the Public Procurement Policy 2012, according to which 20 per cent of total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries, departments and CPSEs shall be made from MSMEs and 4 percent of such procurement shall be from SC and ST owned MSMEs. He said that NSSH is an initiative of the Government of India to develop a supportive ecosystem to focus on the growth of SC-ST MSMEs. He also said that the State Government has recently launched a new scheme called Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) and this scheme will cover all those areas which are not covered under PMEGP like Diary Unit and Poultry Unit.

The participants were also informed about PMEGP and SFURTI schemes being implemented by the department.
