Div Com Kashmir reviews developmental scenario of Anantnag

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 04: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a high-level meeting of officers of civil administration at Dak Bunglow, Khanabal to review the progress of core sectors including R&B, Education, Health, PMGSY, Power, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, FCS&CA, Mega projects under execution in the district.

The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik through a power point presentation informed the meeting about the physical and financial progress achieved under various sectors in the district upto the end of August, 2018. He said that an allocation of Rs.199.50 crore has been sanctioned for the district under Capex Budget 2018 – 19. It was given out that out of an availability of Rs 70.50 Crore, 89.87% expenditure has been achieved till the end of August, 2018.

The DDC informed that under R&B sector, against a target of 144.50 Kms macdamization target, a road length of 68.90 kms have been macadamized so far in the district.

Under PMAY out of the total allocation of Rs.21.53 crores, cent percent progress has been made against the availability of Rs 5.02 crores. Similarly under MGNREGA, against an availability of Rs. 46.28 crores, against an allocation of Rs.48.98 crores, an expenditure of Rs. 44.71 crores has been booked, which is 96% of the total availability.

The meeting was informed 20 Kms of road length has been macadamized and macadamization is in progress on 30 kms under PMGSY sector.

With regard to the progress achieved in various schemes of education sector, the meeting was informed that under elementary education, out of an availability of Rs. 15.6 crore, 19.29% expenditure has been achieved. Similarly, out of an availability of Rs.33.63 lacs, 22.69% expenditure has been achieved in the secondary education till the end of August, 2018.

The DDC appraised the Div Com about the activities being carried out by district level Task Force Committee under youth outreach programme and said that 300 volunteers have been identified at village level for participation in various sports activities. The District Sports Council, Anantnag has register 142 cricket teams in the district which are participating in T20 – Super Cup Cricket Tournaments at different venues.

Under Youth Services and Sports sector, an expenditure of Rs 2.30   lacs has been made, out of the availability of 5.66 lacs, against an allocation of Rs11.32 lacs for the year 2018 – 19.

Similarly, under Khelo India Programme, 36 play fields have been identified for repairs and renovation purpose, out of which repairs of 12 play fields have been identified. The Div Com directed for identifying more places for play fields for which funds will be provided to engage the youth in different sports activities.

The DDC informed the Div Com about the sports activities being carried out under youth outreach programme and said that Rs.30 lacs have been provided to sports council for fencing of the Sports Stadium, Anantnag.

The DDC also informed the Div Com about the protection work on vulnerable sports of Nallah Bringi, Lidder, Sandran & Jhelum. 87 identified sports have been completed under restoration of Irrigation canals.

The Div Com, Kashmir directed the concerned Executing Agencies to speed up the construction work on various Projects. He emphasized upon the officers to ensure accountability and timely completion of all projects. He also asked for the reconciliation among intending departments and executing agencies for better results and timely completion of the works.

The Div Com also directed the JKPCC, R&B to speed up the construction work on various mega projects including Government Medical College, Dailgam, Anantnag, Multi-level Car Parking at Janglatmandi, Trauma Hospital, STP, Uranhall, Bijbehara, and Shopping Complex at old SRTC yard.

The work is under progress on sewerage treatment plant under AMRUT at an estimated cost of Rs. 120 crore at Uranhall. 80% work has been completed with an expenditure 70 crores, the construction work on STP at Wazeer Bagh is also under progress.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer R&B, Director Local Bodies, Director Rural Development, ADDC, General Manager DIC, SE PDD, R&B, CPO, CMO, Anantnag, CEO, CAHO, Executive Engineers of R&B Division, Anantnag, Vailo, Qazigund, Exen PHE, Bijbehara, Qazigund.
