Disaster Management training-cum-mock drill held at GHSS Budgam

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 4:- One day training cum mock drill programme on disaster management was organized by District Disaster Management Authority Budgam in cooperation with District Administration and School education Department was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today at Girls Higher Secondary School Budgam.

The Training cum mock drill programme is one among the series of programmes to be organized in different parts of the district as well as in educations institutions in coming period. The day long training programme was also attended by Principal GHSS Farooq Ahmad Raina, faculty of teaching staff besides huge gathering of students, NGOs, Volunteers was aimed to impart firsthand training from experienced disaster management volunteers  as how to tackle the initial emergency during any disaster or calamity.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Budgam said these kind of training programmes are must to attend in order to garner awareness and steps of preparedness so that response towards different natural and manmade disasters   are mitigated without any loss of life and property.

She urged upon the students to evolve themselves fully and remain fully prepaid to face any eventuality as at when it happens. “It is your duty whatever you learn through these programmes, mock drills must be imparted to others particularly young generation so that everyone will envisage his services during any emergency, as prompt and swift response can minimize the damages to a large extent,” she said.
