Srinagar: National Conference on Friday emerged as a single largest party with ten seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil polls, while Congress remained at the second place.

According to LAHDC officials, the Council has 30 seats but the election was held for 26 seats. Four councillors are nominated by the state government and they too have the voting rights during a confidence or no-confidence motion.

They said that out of 26 councillor seats for which results were declared today, National Conference was ahead of others by winning ten seats. The Congress followed it with its candidates emerging victorious on eight seats. Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP managed to win two seats while her former alliance partner bagged just one seat.
