Dr Zubair assumes charge as ARTO Baramulla

Baramulla August, 27: Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo (KAS) today assumed the charge of ARTO Baramulla.

While chairing a meeting of officers, Dr Zubair reviewed the  problems related to traffic management in the district. He held detailed discussions with the officers of the department and was briefed about various steps being taken to improve the traffic management system in the district.

He said that ensuring safety on roads and institutionalizing professional planning in the domain of traffic management will be the top priority. He further said that those caught violating traffic rules would be dealt with strictly as per law.

He enjoined upon the officers for setting up signages, launching awareness and media campaigns, addressing issues at black spots etc for reducing the incidence of serious road accidents.

He exhorted upon the officials of the department to ensure that only those Pollution Checking Centres which are working with computerized testing and certification systems should be allowed and adequate enforcement should be put in place to ensure that vehicles without Pollution Under Control Certificate are not allowed to ply on the roads.

Dr Zubair emphasized the maximum possible use of automation in the management of traffic in the district.
