Kashmiri boatmen held a rally on the Dal Lake today to register protest against the legal challenge to the Article 35-A. Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) had organized the boat rally. Article 35-A of the constitution defines permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir state and prevents non-locals from buying or owning property in the state. The Supreme Court of India is hearing petitions challenging Article 35-A in the week commencing from August 27, 2018.
