Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani has condemned what it called ‘the brazen police action’ and use of cane-charge and teargas shells against the student fraternity at SSM college of Engineering, Parihaspora Pattan, Baramulla.
In a press release issued here, Hurriyat blamed the police authorities for use of muscle power to ‘destroy the peaceful atmosphere’ within the educational institutions and castigated meddling in the affairs of the said college without any legal or moral justification.
Expressing grave concerns over the issue, the press release said that police was hell-bent upon creating ‘fearful atmosphere’ and severe insecurity among the student community and demanded a high level judicial probe in this matter. It also demanded immediate release of students arrested here.
