‘Missing’ SKUAST students traced

Srinagar, Aug 18: Six students from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST)-K who were reported missing since August 14 have been brought home from a trekking trip, police said.

The students had left university hostel on August 14 without prior permission.

A police officer said that the university authorities had lodged a report that six students have left the hostel on 14th August without any prior permission.

He said a police team was constituted and with the help of some ponywalas all the six boys were traced out from Gangbal area of the Ganderbal district.

Upon questioning, police said, the students revealed that they had gone on a “secret trekking trip” to Gangabal lake in Ganderbal district.

The boys, police said were handed over to the university authorities.
