Div Com Kashmir takes stock of I-Day arrangements at SK Stadium

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 08: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today visited SK Stadium Sonwar to review the arrangements being made for Independence Day celebrations in the capital city.

The Divisional Commissioner inspected the stadium where the main function of the Day will be held. “Various contingents of J&K Police, BSF, CRPF, Lady Police, IRP, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, NCC, different Schools, ITBP, SSB, SDRF and Home Guards shall participate in the march past.

While reviewing the security arrangements, the Divisional Commissioner stressed on fool-proof arrangements in and around the main venue.

Other arrangements which were reviewed on the occasion include the arrangement for proper seating, refreshment, adequate car parking, Public Address System, dice, installation of CCTV cameras, illumination, mobile toilets, proper sanitation, barricading, availability of dewatering pumps and SRTC buses, besides fire tenders.

Khan directed PDD and PHE authorities to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply at the venue. He also directed Health department to deploy medical facilities at the venue with proper staff, ambulance and medicare facilities.

He asked the officers to ensure that 72nd Independence Day Celebrations are more colourful and gripped with patriotic fervour.

The Div Com further called for close coordination among the concerned Departments for the smooth conduct of the Independence Day celebrations at the SK Stadium.

DC Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, SSP Traffic, Joint Commissioner SMC, Assistant Director Information, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, Assistant Director Health Services, Assistant Commissioner, ARTO Kashmir, Superintending Engineers of PDD, R&B, PHE, Police officers and other concerned officers accompanied the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
