Kulgam gunfight: Civilian killed, another injured

Srinagar: A civilian was killed while two others suffered injuries on Saturday after forces opened fire on protesters in Ganowpora village of Shopian in south Kashmir.

Reports said that some youth pelted stones on army following the funeral procession of a local militant Arshad Ahmad Khan who was killed along with his other accomplices in Kiloora village today.

They said that army men fired live ammunition at the protestors resulting in injuries to three persons, one of them critically.

The injured were shifted to district hospital Shopian where one of them, identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan of Pooju village, was declared dead on arrival.
