Srinagar, Aug 1: An unidentified person was killed after a train hit him at Mazahama area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports reaching GNS said that the incident took place today evening at around 8:00 pm near Mazaham railway track.
“The man was walking in the prohibited area,” an official from railway department said.
The man is apparently a non-Muslim. So far no identity proof has been found from his possession, he said, adding that efforts are on to ascertain his identity.
The official said that a mobile phone was recovered from his pocket and that too without a sim card.
The official said that it is being investigated whether the man has committed suicide or the death was accidental. (GNS)
