   DC Baramulla reviews arrangements for Measles vaccination campaign

BARAMULLA, JULY 30: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla. Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for the launching of smooth Intersectoral Measles campaign, being started from September 1st to 10th of October 2018.

On the occasion, Deputy CMO Dr Jozy Basheer briefed the DC about the set of activities and programmes that are being scheduled during the period besides underlining its objectives. She said that various outreach programme shall be organized including sensitization and awareness programmes besides mobilizing Asha and Anganwari workers in educating the vulnerable section of the society. She also said that about 343480 children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years, enrolled in various schools, maqtabs, darul ulooms etc will be given special immunization treatment so that the vulnerability is drastically mitigated.

Deputy Commissioner, while highlighting the significance of the programme stressed for better coordination for the overall success of the campaign. He exhorted upon educating people at grassroot levels and said that other vulnerable sections should be included in the programme. Moreover, he urged for working with more synergy and cooperation so that the objective of universal health care is achieved in letter and spirit besides reiterating the better health care facilities as his administration’s priority.

District Immunization officer Dr. Shabir Ahmad Pathan, BMOs, EOs representatives of various departments, health functionaries and various other concerned were present on the occasion.
