DDC reviews status of developmental projects in old town Bla

BARAMULLA, JULY 24: District Developmental Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash accompanied by various officers today visited old town Baramulla to review the pace of various developmental projects undertaken by various executing agencies in the locality.

On the occasion, the DDC thoroughly enquired about the present status of the project aimed at decongesting the area. He reviewed the construction work on shopping complex wherein he stressed for accelerating the pace of work so that the project is completed at the earliest. He also reviews other facilities including drainage system, sanitation and other components of public importance.

Meanwhile, the DDC met several deputations during his visit where the people appraised him about grievances besides forwarding their demands for the development of the area. The people demanded the establishment of community centres, construction of public toilets, widening of inner as well as main roads, beautification of Jhelum embankment, restoration of street lights, proper drainage system and demanded other projects of vital public importance.

The DDC had a patient hearing of the grievances and assured them that their grievances, as well as demands, will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their early redressal. He also issued directions to the accompanying concerned for solving the problems of people of the area at the earliest. The DDC sought public cooperation and said that development of the region is not possible without public support.
