SRINAGAR, JULY 21: Principal Secretary Transport Department, Asgar Hassan Samoon today paid a surprise visit to the office of RTO Kashmir and inspected its various sections.

During the visit, Samoon inspected learning license section, vehicle registration section, planning section, motor vehicles inspector section and CCTV cameras installed in different sections. He was apprised in detail about their functioning.

The Principal Secretary along with Regional Transport Officer Khurshid Ahmad Shah later visited the site for Transport Bhavan for Transport Commissioner Office and RTO office which is coming up at a cost of Rs 697.96 lakh at Bemina.

On the occasion, the Principal Secretary called for expediting work on the development projects for their timely completion. He directed for coming with the details of funds required for completion of the work at Bemina.

Samoon also visited trial ground at Bemina where driving test for issuing of fresh driving licenses was under-way.

The Principal Secretary also inspected Passenger Maintenance Division workshop of SRTC at Bemina. He was apprised that on an average 150 vehicles are being repaired with available manpower in a month at the workshop. He directed for initiating the process for auctioning of condemned vehicles at the workshop.

Later, Samoon also took stock of State Motor Garages (SMG) at Bemina. He was briefed that presently 500 vehicles are with the SMG which is being provided to different Government functionaries for the smooth functioning of the administrative work.
