DDC Budgam inaugurates youth cultural festival

BUDGAM, JULY 21: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, today inaugurated a month-long youth cultural workshop at Sheikh-Ul-Alam Memorial (SAM), Degree College Budgam.

The festival is being organized by North Zone Cultural Centre in collaboration with the SAM College.

Among others, the dignitaries who were present on the inaugural function include Principal of the College, ASP, Consultant NZCC, senior faculty and a large gathering of students.

The event began with traditional Kashmiri folklore songs including wanwun, rouff presented by girl students of the college.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said such events help in highlighting the rich traditional cultural heritage of Kashmir and regenerate enthusiasm towards it.

She reiterated that the district administration will always remain behind such efforts in envisaging all requisite support and cooperation.
