DDC Bandipora stresses on need to promote Kashmiri language

BANDIPORA, JULY 21: A literary conference on the topic “Fikr-e-Shujat: Adbi ti Lisani passimanzar” (literary and linguistic perspective of Shujat Bukhari) was organized at Girls Higher Secondary school, Bandipora, today in which literary personalities across the valley participated. The conference was organized by Literary Forum Bandipora.

District Development Commissioner Bandipora (DDC)  Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion while as Nayeema Ahmad Mehjoor, SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfkar Azad participated as guests of honour. literary figure Mohammad Amin Bhat and Farooq Rafiaabadi shared the presidium.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the best way of paying tributes to Syed Shujat Bukhari is to carry forward his thought regarding the development of Kashmiri language and literature. He said Shujat has worked a lot for Adbi Markaz Kamraz and other literary forums.

Referring to the holding of literary activities in Bandipora, the DDC said that Bandipora has a rich cultural history, adding, efforts shall be made to develop Bandipora on modern lines of education and sports. He assured every possible support from the district administration to ensure proper counselling to the educated youth so that they can carry forward the rich history of their forefathers.

Earlier, secretary literary Forum Bandipora, Mansoor Muntazir gave details regarding the conference.

Other speakers also spoke at the conference and threw light on the efforts and role of Shujat Bukhari for developing Kashmiri language and literature.

The programme was conducted by Anjum Nisar.
