KVIB organizes workshop under NSSH

UDHAMPUR, JULY 17: Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board today organized a workshop under National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme for Schedule Caste Schedule Tribe MSMEs, here at conference Hall, DC Office.

District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar inaugurated the workshop as the Chief Guest.

While appreciating the initiatives taken by J&K KVIB in uplifting downtrodden and underprivileged strata of the society, the DDC asked the participants to avail maximum benefits of these schemes.

During the workshop, the participants were also informed about various ways of establishing MSME.

Financial Advisor, Mohammed Ashraf Iqbal, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, Pawan Gupta, Assistant Director KVIC, Anil Kumar, General Manager, District Industry Center, Suram Chand, District Officer KVIB Udhampur, Tilak Raj, Lead Bank Manager and officers of line departments were present on the occasion.

While giving PowerPoint presentation about NSSH scheme, the Financial Advisor said that the Government of India has formulated the Public Procurement Policy 2012, according to which 20% of total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries, Departments and CPSEs shall be made from MSMEs and 4% of such procurement shall be from SC & ST owned MSMEs. He said that NSSH is an initiative of the Government of India to develop a supportive ecosystem to focus on the growth of SC-ST MSMEs.

The participants were also informed about PMEGP and SFURTI schemes being implemented by the department.

District Officer, KVIB, Tilak Raj gave a brief about the activities being carried out by the department in the district. He urged upon SC/ST community to come forward to avail the benefits of the schemes of the department.
