Man found dead in water reservoir in Lolab

Srinagar, Jul 15: Body of a 50-year-old man was recovered from a water reservoir in Lalpora area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Saturday.

Reports said that some fishermen spotted the body and informed the local police station about it. A police team reached the spot and recovered the body.

A police officer identified the deceased as Wali Mohammad, son of Abdul Gafar Bhat of Thundosa, Lalpora.

He said proceedings under Section 174 CrPc has been registered and investigation is on to ascertain the actual cause of death.

Meanwhile, after conducting all the medico-legal  formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites. (GNS)
