Malik arrested enroute Srinagar

Srinagar: Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested by police when he was returning home from south Kashmir where he had gone to expresses condolences to some bereaved families.

Malik, along with JKLF Vice Chairman, Mushtaq Ajmal, and Zonal Organizer, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri were later lodged at police station Sangam. The arrest comes just a day after Malik was released from ten days custody.

JKLF has strongly condemned the arrest and termed it as ‘state terrorism’.

Prior to his arrest Malik, along with a delegation, traveled to South Kashmir and visited various bereaved families of those recently killed by forces. “Malik visited Hawoora Raidwani and met with the bereaved families of martyred girl Andaleeb Jan, martyr Shakir Ahmad Khanday and martyr Irshad Ahmad Lone,” The press release issued here said.
