Kansal directs for speeding up expenditure in all schemes

SRINAGAR, JULY 12: Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Rohit Kansal today directed the officers to work hard to greatly enhance expenditure in all sectors.

He was speaking at a meeting to review the progress under BEAMS and resolve issues, if any. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officers of all districts via video conferencing and other senior officers of the department and NIC.

Kansal said that BEAMS has greatly helped in smooth flow of funds and it is now imperative for officers to enhance the spending. He directed the officers to increase spending under state schemes, centrally sponsored schemes and Prime Minister Development Project concurrently.

The officers highlighted various issues in the meeting to which Kansal said that special training programme will be started at district levels wherein all small issues will be resolved. He said that the staff scarcity in certain districts will be addressed within next few weeks by appointing officials on the vacant posts.

Kansal said that BEAMS will revolutionize the spending in the state and also usher in new era of transparency and accountability.
