Srinagar, July 11: A bike-rider was killed on the spot while pillion sustained critical injuries after the bike met with an accident at Waripora area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday night.
A police officer told GNS that the biker died on the spot while as the pillion suffered serious injuries after the bike (JK04A-4822) they were travelling in had a collision with a load carrier (JK05E- 5099) had a collision at Waripora area of Kunzer on Tangmarg road.
The officer identified the deceased as Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Ibrahim Khan of Qazipora Tangmarg while as the injured Abid Hussain Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat of Sheeri Bal was taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to JVC Bemina, Srinagar in critical conditions.
The bike was heading towards Magam from Qazipora when the mishap occurred last night at around 9:15 pm, the officer said.
“A case under FIR No. 73/2018 under section 279, 304 A, 427 was registered and further investigations were taken up,” the officer said. (GNS)
