All suppressive measures will fail: Er. Rasheed

Srinagar 10 July: Six AIP workers including party District president Kulgam, Dr. Bari Nayak, and District President Shopian, Haji Yousuf, were released from Sub-Jail Anantnag today, a press release issued by the party said.

The Party President, Er. Rasheed, while welcoming their release reiterated that south Kashmir was virtually under ‘martial law’ and whosoever dares to speak truth has to pay the price. “All harsh and inhuman policies including that of killing, blinding and jailing Kashmiris are bound to fail as truth and facts are on the sides of Kashmiris. New Delhi must understand that neither change of guards nor cosmetic measures can help in resolving Kashmir dispute which is lying unresolved since 1947 and has consumed more than five Lakh human lives,” Er. Rasheed was quoted as saying by the press release.
Stating that while people in general had offered great sacrifices for the resolution of Kashmir issues, South Kashmir had suffered the worst atrocities on account of ‘state terrorism’ and ‘Jungle Raj’ during last three years. “Neither pro-resistance leadership nor anyone else who sincerely want to reach out to the masses are being allowed to do so. Unless New Delhi doesn’t give up the arrogance and agree to certain basic facts nothing will change,” Er. Rasheed was quoted as saying. He also sought release of all ‘innocents’ lodged in various police stations and jails and reiterated that these detainees were not criminals.
