Srinagar, Jul 05: Former Chief Minister and National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Thursday questioned what he called sudden change of heart of disgruntled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members after the collapse of the government.

“These PDP MLAs should be asked why they have become upset with the party all of a sudden. And why are they expressing this anger after the fall of the government. Few months ago, during the budget session in Jammu, they were all in praise for Mehbooba Mufti and her government. I didn’t get to hear about any complaints, then,” Abdullah told reporters during his tour of Beerwah constituency.

He said it needed to be understood why these members have become upset after the fall of the government.

At least five PDP members, including Imran Raza Ansari, who was a former cabinet colleague of Mehbooba Mufti, have accused the party leadership of nepotism.

“Mehbooba Mufti not only failed the PDP as a party but also dashed the dreams of her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that he had envisaged,” Imran had said.

“It had become a family show which was run by brothers, uncles and other relatives. The Peoples Democratic Party has become Family Democratic Party.”
