KVIB hosts NSSH awareness camp

SAMBA, JULY 04: In last eighteen months, Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (J&KKVIB) has facilitated establishment of 140 units in border district Samba under its flagship Prime Minister Employment Generation Scheme (PMEGP).

During last financial year KVIB established 93 units against the target of 50 units involving a Margin Money of Rs 1.93 crore and providing employment to 457 persons, while in current year it has  established 47 units involving margin money of Rs 1.36 crore, said Dy CEO, KVIB Jammu, Pawan Kumar Gupta  here at an awareness camp .

He said it is an all time high employment ever provided in the District under PMEGP scheme.

He was addressing participants here at an awareness camp under National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe(NSSH) Hub Scheme organised by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board here today.

The Dy. CEO, while giving details of NSSH Hub scheme, informed the gathering that to ensure the growth of the SC ST Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Government of India formulated a policy for MSMEs in 2012. He said according to this policy the total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries, Departments and Public sector undertakings shall be made from MSMEs and 4% of such procurement shall be made from MSMEs owned by SC ST entrepreneurs.

He appealed to the SC ST unemployed youth to establish their own income generating units by availing the facilities being provided under PMEGP scheme.

Later Dy. CEO also visited departmental Beekeeping centre Hira Chack.

Dy. Registrar KVIB Jammu Division, Rohit Kashyap, District Officer KVIB Samba, Paramjeet Singh, District Manager SC ST Corporation, Manager J&K Bank, Manager Grameen Bank, besides a large number of people from SC ST community attended the camp.
