Parvez Ahmed lays foundation stone of J&K Bank’s Staff Training Institute, Recreation Centre

Srinagar, July 03: J&K Bank Chairman and CEO, Parvez Ahmed, today laid the foundation stone of the bank’s Staff Training Institute and Recreational Centre at Gol Gujral Talab Tillo Jammu at a simple but impressive function. The stone was laid in presence of Directors on Board of the bank, D.K Pandoh, Rahul Bansal and Executive President, R.K Chibber. Senior working and retired officers of the Bank and a number of  local residents were also present on the occasion.

The Bank is constructing a modern residential staff training institute equipped with an advanced e-lobby, lecture halls, administrative block, conference rooms, library, computer rooms, an auditorium, hostel, and faculty residences. The Recreation Centre being constructed for the serving and retired staff and their families shall have tennis and badminton courts, Bank club and a guest house.

Expressing deep appreciation for the staff, the chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmed said, “Continuous learning and embracing change are the key skills to succeed in current dynamic environment, be it businesses or society at large. Speaking about the pattern and infrastructure of Staff Training Institute  and Recreation Centre, he added, “Knowledge is Power and investing in Knowledge and Skill Development is the peculiarity of best Institutions and Business organizations . JK Bank consistently aligns itself to best industry practices and this is a step towards re-inventing ourselves as per the changing firmament of Banking Industry. We have prioritized Trainings and skill development as the crucial aspects of Human Resource Development and taking it a step further towards excellence, we shall establish Staff Training Institute which will be equipped with every modern facility including residential provision for our people. The Bank has expanded manifolds in business and employee base over the years necessitating up gradation of our existing Training infrastructure. With setting up of this infrastructure all such requirements will be well taken care of and we aim to build a State of the Art facility which will boast of its uniqueness in the entire region. Furthermore, the current training programs and curricula shall also be aligned and re-organized to induct current practices, courses and specialized domain knowledge to impart the right skill at the right time!”

He also asserted that exclusive focus shall be on imparting knowledge of financial technology to staff through a fully equipped Computer Lab Facility so that trainees can operate on a daily basis with technological ease and proficiency.

He further said that in order to promote a healthy work life balance, a Recreation Centre shall also be established beside the Staff Training Institute for both present and retired employees of the bank. He said that, “We believe that this centre will become a pivotal interaction space for staff and will be equipped with outdoor and indoor facilities, like gymnasium and library to offer the best in class recreation options for unwinding during the spare time. This facility represents our gesture towards people who work with untiring passion and exclusive devotion often giving little attention to amusement. We want to promote a healthy balance as learning and working is for life.”

Later in the day Chairman JK Bank accompanied by Bank’s Executive President visited the Bank developed and maintained Rajinder Park at Canal Road and planted saplings. Parvez Ahmed issued on the spot instructions to undertake renovation for an enhanced experience of the general public. He also announced creation of an open gymnasium facility, musical fountain in the park and quality food joints to make the place more attractive for the people.
