Kargil: The Buddhist spiritual leader and Nobel laureate for Peace, Dalai Lama arrived Leh on Tuesday morning to a rousing reception. Hundreds of prominent people received him at the Kaushak Bakula Rinpoche (KBR) Airport.

Prominent among them were head of Drigung sect, Chetsang Rinpoche and Thukse Rinpoche of Hemis monastery besides Rizong Thizur Rinpochey of Thicksey, Stamina, Togdon and others including the leaders of Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities.

Chairman State Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, was also among the prominent personalities to receive the spiritual leader at the KBR airport.

Meanwhile, taking on phone Haji Anayat said that he has invited his holiness to Kargil on behalf of the Kargil Buddhist community and the people Kargil district. Responding positively Dalai Lama said that he will surely visit Kargil for a day and night stay and has informed that the program schedule will be intimated after 6th July 2018.

“I am very glad that HH has appreciated my work and my approach of work and also advised to work for maintaining communal harmony and for the peace in the region”, he added.
