Dilapidated roads in the heart of Ganderbal town irk commuters

Ganderbal, 2 July: Residents of Ganderbal town are up in arms against the administration for failing to provide better road connectivity in the area.

The commuters while lashing out at the authorities said that the potholes and dusty roads have made their life hell.

Fayaz Ahmad a commuter said, “Dudarhuma to Fethpora road, which is the center of Ganderbal town, is full of potholes and even a light rainfall makes the whole road inundated, and in such a situation it becomes very difficult to even walk on the road.”

Altaf  Fethapori , a local said , “During dry season, the dust from the dilapidated roads in the town cause inconvenience to the people here, while as during rainy seasons it becomes difficult to walk on the road due to accumulation of mud.”

“New district hospital road is in a bad condition which causes huge inconvenience to patients. This is the condition of roads in district headquarters of Ganderbal and one can imagine the condition of roads in rural areas of the district,” he added.

When contacted Executive engineer R&B Department Ganderbal, Sajad Ahmad, said, “Duderhuma-Fethpora road is on first priority this year. It will be macadamized this year.”
