Srinagar, Jul 01: An Amarnath pilgrim was injured today after the engine of the bus he was travelling in exploded here, police said.
“A pilgrim identified as Harish suffered injuries due to the explosion in the bus at Lasjan here,” a police officer said.
He said the explosion took place because of some technical fault in the bus.
“We are still investigating it. It is a Volvo bus and most probably the explosion happened because of some fault in the engine or some other technical fault,” police said.
They said the other pilgrims were safe.
The bus was on its way to Baltal base camp of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
