Workshop on NID Scheme held in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: Directorate of Industries and Commerce organized an awareness workshop on ‘New Industrial Development (NID) Scheme’ to disseminate information among the entrepreneurs at Sanat Ghar, Bemina here today.

On the occasion, Joint Secretary Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Industries and Commerce, Government of India, Dr Vandana Kumar informed that the central government had notified new industrial development schemes for three states including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. In this Scheme, an overall subsidy is enhanced to Rs 5 crore from the earlier Rs 3 crore in organized as well as unorganized sector.

She further informed that the Ministry had recently launched the web portal for Industrial Development Scheme for the Himalayan States which, she added, was available on www.dipp.nic.in.

“All eligible units would have to register under the scheme through this portal. Then units will become eligible to receive all government benefits. Applicant has to apply online along with DPR. The final grant of registration and approval will be decided by the Empowered Committee for the eligibility of the Industrial unit on the basis of availability of Budget to decide the eligibility for registration under the scheme,” She explained.

It was said that units which have commenced production on or after June 15, 2017, will be allowed to register with DIPP portal up to September 30, 2018. Preferences will be given to MSME units. Interested can send their queries to rimjhim.sharma@gov.in and sheena.bhalaik@gov.in.

Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Department Shalinder Kumar highlighted the benefits of New Industrial Development Scheme to the participants.

Directors of Industries and Commerce Kashmir and Jammu, MD SIDCO,    MD SICOP, Representatives of all Trade Bodies, Members of FICCI and other concerned officers attended the workshop.
