DSEK visits Kupwara; Reviews infra upgradation, educational scenario

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr G.N. Itoo conducted a detailed tour of district Kupwara along with a team of officers of Education Department.

He paid a surprise visit to DIET Kupwara, various schools of Handwara and BHSS Kupwara where he interacted with the students.  The Director also visited BOSE sub-office Kupwara in the capacity of Secretary J&K Board of School Education and took stock of the functioning there.

He also took stock of the ongoing construction work of Ustad Ghar in Kupwara town which is being built in over an area of 2 Kanals of land and for which in initial phase administration has released an amount of five lakh to be followed by the next instalment of Rs 27 lakh.

The Ustad Ghar is meant for the accommodation of teachers of the border areas of Machil, Keran, Karnah, Jumagund etc. This would solve the long pending demands of teachers of such areas who used to face accommodation problems in Kupwara.

DSEK also reviewed the ongoing constructions work of BOSE building in Kupwara for which land acquisition has already been made in a wide campus area of 4 Kanals of land.

Later, Director along with District Development Commissioner and Chief Education Officer Kupwara visited the auditorium being constructed at Hanga Mawar which shall be taken over by the Education Department for the exposure and co-curricular activities of the students.

On the occasion, Director also announced that a state level Children’s festival, in which students from Jammu will also participate, shall be organized in the Bungs Valley soon.

It was said that such a mega festival will help interaction of students on the state level and various cultural and co-curricular programmes shall mark the occasion of the upcoming festival.
