DC Srinagar inspects facilities at pilgrim holding area at Pantha Chowk

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Friday visited the holding area for Amarnath pilgrims at Pantha Chowk here to inspect the facilities available for Yatries.

The DC, while taking an on-the-spot inspection of the holding area, instructed the concerned departments for keeping fire tenders and an ambulance available for any eventuality. He also instructed for enhancing facilities for accommodating more pilgrims there.

Dr Shah also directed the concerned authorities for improving the basic facilities including sanitation. He was informed that additional toilets were being constructed for the convenience of the pilgrims. He was also informed that a Nodal officer has been designated to ensure smooth and hassle-free operation of the langar at the holding area.
