Amid speculations, Madhav meets BJP, PC legislators
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Amid speculations about the formation of a new government in Jammu and Kashmir, the national general secretary of BJP and its Kashmir incharge, Ram Madhav today had a detailed meeting with some former ministers of the party and Peoples Conference chairman, former minister and MLA Handwara, Sajjad Gani Lone.

Following the meeting, Ram Madhav tweeted: “With J&K former ministers of BJP n PC (Sajjad Lone) in Srinagar discussing about the roadmap for the state.”

Madhav also had a meeting with J&K Governor N N Vohra today after his arrival from Delhi.

An official statement issued by the Raj Bhavan today also said that Governor had a detailed meeting with several legislators of BJP including former Deputy Chief Minister, Kanvider Gupta.

It may be recalled here that the BJP on June 19 announced that it is breaking its alliance with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that it has become untenable to continue in the government.

BJP’s general secretary Ram Madhav, while addressing a press conference, said that terrorism, violence and radicalisation have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are in danger in the Valley.

The BJP-PDP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir has often been termed as the ‘meeting of the north and south poles’. It has had a rocky ride since the start and been fraught with differences.
