Sopore, Jun 27: Police on Tuesday late night claimed to have arrested four over-ground workers (OGWs) of Jaish Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit from Sopore town of north Kashmir.

A police spokesperson in a statement issued today said that acting on a specific information, police with the assistance of 22 RR and 177 and 179 Bn CRPF laid a joint naka at Fruit Mandi crossing in Sopore on Tuesday evening and arrested four OGWs of proscribed militant JeM outfit.

“The accused has been identified as Mohammad Ayoub Malla, son of Ghulam  Hassan Malla, resident of Malgonipor; Fayaz Ahmad War, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin War, resident of Warpora; Javid Ahmad War, son of Abdul Rehman War, resident of Warpora;  and Maqsood Ahmad War, son of Mohammad Yousuf War, resident of Duchanpora Rohama ,” police spokesman said in a statement.

“Two UBGL, two grenades and matrix-sheets of JeM outfit were recovered from their possession,” he said, adding the accused persons were booked under relevant sections of the law.
