DDC Budgam holds inaugural meet; Stresses on better public services delivery

BUDGAM, JUNE 23: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, today convened an inaugural meeting with officers of the district administration and took an overview of the various developmental works schemes being executed in the district.

The DDC stressed the officers to work in tandem with each other for the effective and prompt delivery of public services. She also called for greater synergy between the civilian and police authorities.

She directed the officers to submit concept notes highlighting the mandated mission of the department along with the details of their flagship schemes, financial and physical progress.

Taking an in-depth review of various engineering wings, the DDC urged the officers to redouble their efforts to achieve the set targets. While reviewing the functioning of the PHE department, she urged that regular potable drinking water supply be provided to all the areas including Budgam town and in unconnected areas tankers should be made available as per predetermined and well-publicized schedule.

The DDC detailed her priorities of expediting developmental works, implementation of government-sponsored schemes, improving public service delivery system and putting in place effective grievance redressal mechanism.

She while obtaining feedback of ground situation from various officers assured them of full support and cooperation from the district administration. She also urged officers to ensure punctuality of their staff and implement the biometric attendance system in their offices.

The DDC also stressed on the creation of block-wise Youth Clubs and opening of Gym Centers in the district in order to channelize the energy of youth towards positive activities.

While stressing on the need to achieve ODF status under SBM within the stipulated time, the DDC directed the concerned to mobilize their men and machinery and also directed Municipal Authorities to ensure sanitation, cleanliness and hygiene in general and particularly around prominent places.
