Sopore police arrests six gamblers

June 20: Sopore police has arrested six gamblers and recovered stake money of rupees 13580 from the gambling spot.

A police statement said that acting on specific information, a police party of Police Post Watergam, Sopore raided a gambling spot in their jurisdiction.

During the raid, six gamblers identified as Altaf Hussain Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir resident of Hibdangerpora, Abdul Rashid Khuroo son of Abdul Razak Khuroo resident of Lokipora Sunawani, Mehraj-ud-din Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Behrampora, Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Dangerpora Sopore, Abdul Rashid Malla son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Malla resident of Watergam and Manzoor Ahmad Khawaja son of Abdul Rehman Khawaja resident of Seelo Sopore were arrested.

Stake money of rupees 13580 and cards were recovered from the gambling spot.

A case FIR number 74/2018 under section 13 gambling act has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up.
