Srinagar: President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Abdul Qayom Wani has condemned the brutal killing of internationally renowned journalist and Editor in Chief of Rising Kashmir Newspaper, Syed Shujaat Bukhari and termed the incident as ‘brutal, shameful and attack on press freedom.

In a press release issued here, EJAC while demanding an immediate inquiry into the incident, has termed the killing as a ‘cold blooded murder’ and said that it was a direct attack on freedom of press. “Shujaat Bukhari was not only the Chief Editor of a prominent newspaper but an Institution in himself. He was a multi dimensional personality, inspiration for young journalist and voice of the suppressed people,” Abdul Qayoom Wani, President EJAC, was quoted as saying by the press release.
