Jammu, Jun 14: A “notorious criminal” was slapped with the Public Safety Act (PSA) by the Jammu district administration today and sent to jail, police said.

A dossier was submitted to the Jammu district magistrate for charging notorious criminal Bunny Gupta under the PSA for his involvement in six criminal cases, a police officer said.

The district magistrate issued the orders and Gupta has been sent to the Kot Bhalwal jail, he added.

Criminal cases against Gupta, including attempt to murder, illegal possession of arms and extortion, are registered at different police stations in Jammu and R S Pura, the police officer said.

Recently, Gupta was arrested for snatching cash worth Rs 8 lakh from a businessman in Jammu, he said.
