Srinagar, Jun 09: An unidentified body of a youth was recovered from a mountain in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning.
GNS news agency quoted official sources as saying that some shepherd spotted the charred body at Khazan Mati – the top side of Kralpora forests and informed the concerned police about it.
A police officer while confirming the incident and said that a team was rushed immediately to the spot and the body was recovered.
“The body is of someone aged around 22-years, but it is charred beyond recognition and authorities are conducting medico-legal formalities including the postmortem and DNA tests to ascertain its identity,” the officer said.
A case under relevant sections of law has also been registered and further investigations taken up, the officer added.
