MLA Budgam accuses police of trampling law

Budgam: Saying that police is “trampling” law and have resorted to “hooliganism”, MLA Budgam Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi visited Takipora village on Saturday where six persons including a woman were injured in police action.

“Instead of maintaining law and order and providing security to people, police has resorted to hooliganism and is trampling law,” the MLA said.

While terming the police highhandness as unfortunate, NC legislator demanded transfer of Budgam Station House Officer.

After the incident, MLA reached to Tekipora where he was briefed by people what actually had happened.

Meanwhile, SSP Budgam, Tejinder Singh also visited the village and said he will order an inquiry.

Earlier, according to villagers, police intercepted a tipper carrying soil at round 5:30 am and beat its driver to pulp and thereby ensuing clashes.

Meanwhile, residents have blocked the Budgam-Beerwah road and are demanding transfer of SHO.
