Srinagar, June 9: An unidentified body of a youth was recovered from a mountain in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning.
Official sources told GNS that some shepherd spotted the charred body at Khazan Mati – the top side of Kralpora forests and informed the concerned police accordingly.
A police officer while confirming the incident and said that a team was rushed immediately to the spot and recovered the body.
“The charred body is about 22-years old but is beyond the recognition and authorities were conducting all legal medico formalities including the postmortem and DNA tests to ascertain his identity,” the officer said.
A case under relevant sections of law has also been registered and further investigations was taken up, the officer added.
