Srinagar, June 06: Police in Anantnag have solved two cases of kidnapping and recovered the abducted girls.

On 26th of December 2017, Police Station Kokernag received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating therein that his daughter in law (name with held) was abducted by the accused (name withheld), from Sonabrari Kokernag on 22nd of December 2017 from her home, a statement issued by police said.

In this regard, a case FIR number 231/2017 under section 366-RPC was registered.

On 1st of June 2018, another written complaint was received by Police Station Kokernag by Begum Jan wife of Shareef Bimla that her daughter (name withheld) was abducted by one person (name withheld) from her home on 30th of May 2018, said the statement.

In this regard a case FIR number 73/2018 under section 366-RPC registered in Police Station Kokernag.

During the course of investigation, the statement said, Anantnag police flashed a message to all police units and also constituted a special team headed by SHO Police Station Kokernag. Various places were raided to trace the kidnappers and the victim girls.

After strenuous efforts, both the girls were recovered and the accused persons were arrested from a far flung area of district Anantnag, added the statement.

After completions of legal formalities, both the girls were handed over to their legal heirs.
