Srinagar, Jun 04: Villagers in north Kashmir’s Bandipora area of Hajin foiled an attempt by unidentified gunmen to abduct a man late Sunday night.
The incident took place at Hajin village when some masked men tried to kidnap 25-years-old Shahid Ahamd Khan, son of Habibullah Khan, a resident of Chrengpora Banyari village of Hajin.
Witnesses said Shahid was working in his paddy field when some masked men tried to kidnap him.
The incident happened days after militants denied hand in civilians’ killings in the town and asked people to remain “awake and to fight tooth and nail against the agencies who are behind these killings.”
