DGP orders “Martyrs/Retired Police Assistance Cells” at all districts, units

SRINAGAR, JUNE 02: To extend timely assistance to the families of the Police personnel who sacrifice their lives for the nation, to redress the grievances of the retired police personnel besides strengthening the existing Savera Scheme, PHQ has ordered for the constitution of the “Martyrs/Retired Police Assistance Cells” in all district headquarters and units.

A police spokesman in a statement said that the Director General of Police, Dr. S.P. Vaid today issued orders for constituting these “Martyrs/Retired Police Assistance Cells” at all district and unit level to resolve the issues related to the families of police martyrs and retired police personnel.

This will be in addition to the existing mechanism for assisting the NOKs of the martyrs and retired personnel in resolving their issues, said the statement.

“Each Assistance Cell will have one non-gazetted officer and two lower subordinates as its members and will be supervised by a gazetted officer. It will strengthen the existing mechanism of Savera Scheme for the assistance of the families of martyrs. All district and unit heads have been asked to constitute these Cells immediately,” added the statement.
