BANDIPORA, MAY 31: Vice-Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited, Faqir Mohammed Khan today convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review the developmental activities of the District including Gurez Sub Division.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanaie was also present in the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed stock and supply position of essential commodities in view of ensuing Eid.

The meeting discussed threadbare various aspects regarding developmental projects under Education, Power, PHE, Rural Development, Agriculture and other allied sectors.

The meeting was informed that 14 road projects were completed at a cost of Rs. 27.28 crore during last financial year under NABARD and District Sector while as under PMGSY 42 road projects costing RS. 127 crore are under execution in the district out of which 18 projects have been completed upto March 2018 at a cost of Rs. 70.63 crore.

Reviewing the Education Sector, it was informed that 7 school buildings and 52 additional classrooms were completed during last financial year which include Middle School Jurinayal and additional accommodation for Girls High School Dawar, Boys High School Buglindor and residential quarter at Boys Higher Secondary School Izmerg. Under RMSA 4 High School buildings have been completed at a cost of Rs. 107.72 lac which includes High School Purana Tulail.

Reviewing the Health Sector, it was informed that two new ambulances have been recently provided to Block Tulail, of which one ambulance shall be available at Gujran.

The meeting was informed that about Rs. 3 crore has been spent under MGNEREGA in Gurez.

Under Horticulture sector, it was informed that High Density walnut and other fruit plants have been planted in Izmerg nursery.

Reviewing the stock and supply position, it was informed that sufficient stock of food grains is available across the district. The AD Food informed that 5252 quintal rice, 475 quintal Aata, 215 quintal sugar and 38000 literature K-oil is available at Gurez Sub Division while as in Bandipora and Sumbal tehsils 18095 quintal  rice, 1077 quintal sugar and 10800 litres K-oil have been distributed among the consumers of Bandipora and Sumbal tehsils during the month of May.

Addressing the meeting, the Vice Chairman JK Minerals stressed upon the officers to work with added dedication and resolve the problems of people, especially living in far-flung and border areas on priority. He also stressed for proper protection of forests in Gurez area which is the identity of the Sub Division.

The DDC on the occasion stressed upon the concerned officers to intensify market checking across the district to curb the menace of black marketing and profiteering.
