Srinagar, May 31: Sonamarg-Drass stretch of the 434-km Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed for traffic for the third successive day on Thursday.
The authorities had closed the road following a major landslide near Shaitani Nallah at Zojila pass on the highway on Tuesday.
Officials said men and machinery are on job to restore the road for traffic.
Meanwhile, hundreds of passenger vehicles, tourist cabs and trucks are stranded on both sides of the slide from Sonamarg and Minimarag Drass.
